"What a brilliant idea! Take something like iCamp and turn it into an after school program. My son couldn't be happier. He gets his homework done every day at Createch, the staff are wonderful, and he is learning so much about technology. I really believe this is going to benefit him so much in school. Better yet, the games and projects they create are non-violent, so rather than amping him up, he is calm and focused. What a great alternative to after school Daycare. Thank you Tyler and John for creating this wonderful program for our kids!" -Brookside mom of a 3rd grader “The only thing Tyler and her team could do better with iCamp is to offer it from 6am to midnight everyday of the summer! My son LOVED iCamp, and continues to be thrilled by the after school classes CT teaches at his school!” - Mike Peters, Dad to Christopher Peters, 10 year old. "Our son has attended iCamp for the last 3 summers. With the help of Tyler and her team, he learned how to develop projects like mini movies, making music, and simple game making. By the end of the 3rd summer he had learned variable editing for games and was helping other kids with their work. Through this process he has gained a tremendous amount of self confidence not only as a computer whiz but also in himself and his own ability to have fun and learn. We would strongly recommend this camp to any child that is interested in computers." - Laura Alders "I have been a part of iCamp for three years now. I love it! When I started off, I wanted to make games & I liked to create very long elaborate games. So every time I needed help Tyler or one of her members in the team would help me learn what to do next. I think that iCamp is a good experience for kids because when kids play games that are pre made by huge companies they are limited to what they can do in the game. I think when they make their own game they can let their imaginations go wild and have a good time making it." -Austin Alders, iCamper "We’ve had iCamp as part of our summer program for the past four years. The program has grown exponentially and is fast becoming one of our most popular summer offerings. Tyler Higgins and her exceptional staff of instructors have been a joy to work with, and we look forward to seeing the joy on the faces of our 2009 campers." -Yvonne Miles - Assistant Director, Community Education, Tamalpais Adult School “iCamp has proven to be a great experience for our entire family. Both my sons have participated in programs and have come away with much more than just improved technology skills. The opportunity to plan, design and create their own games has done wonders for their self esteem and self-confidence. The instructors are professional, fun and have an uncanny ability to connect with all students - even those with learning differences. My boys had a blast and my husband and I get to brag about our game maker pro boys, A true Win-Win situation for everyone!” - Barbara R. Waite, SPHR Senior HR Consultant AKA DMS Mom & 2009 Auction Co-chair "I am writing to commend the fantastic job Greg Intermaggio did with the morning animation camp this last week. I am the grandmother of a special needs kid. He is borderline autistic and has significant developmental and social problems. He responds most favorably to learning in a video format. I called ahead and spoke to Steve Mason regarding the appropriateness of bringing my grandson into the animation camp, with me to accompany him in case of difficulties that could disrupt the class. Steve encouraged us to sign him up. I'm glad we did. I stayed on the school campus the whole time, often in the classroom. I had the opportunity to see Greg's teaching style and his ability with the kids under his tutelage. The whole class moved ahead with ease due to his ability to both interest them and explain the processes to them. Greg's ability to work with a difficult child was admirable. He was patient, clear in insisting on communication clarity, and resolution of difficulties. He handled other classroom conflicts with kindness, firmness and clarity of purpose. I would gladly recommend him for any future teaching or counseling programs working with kids, in regular or special needs programs" - Sincerely, Sue Lyttle, Novato, CA
